Make the next big decision with confidence
About Optimal Edge Consulting
Optimal Edge Consulting was founded in 2009 to help owners and leadership teams make high-stakes decisions with more clarity, control, and confidence. The work blends strategic thinking with real-world operational and financial discipline—so leaders can see what’s really happening, focus on what matters most, and move forward with a plan that actually gets executed.
Some engagements start because performance needs to improve. Others begin when a business is approaching change—growth, leadership shifts, restructuring, capital conversations, succession planning, or a potential sale. In every case, Optimal Edge brings steady guidance, practical structure, and solutions designed to scale with the organization.

Mark Perry
Practice Manager / Principal
Mark Perry is Managing Director of Optimal Edge and brings decades of leadership experience spanning controllership, forecasting, cost and asset management, multi-unit budgeting, and business unit management. He is known as an emotionally intelligent leader with the business acumen to assess complex situations quickly—helping C-level executives and board members strengthen performance and position a business for near-term investment, growth, or sale.
Mark’s style is direct, collaborative, and grounded in practical execution. He combines CFO-level financial discipline with COO-level operational practicality—connecting the numbers to what’s actually happening inside the business. Clients value that he doesn’t simply deliver analysis; he helps leaders clarify priorities, strengthen visibility, and put the right cadence in place so the work continues after the meeting ends.
Over the course of his career, Mark has led and supported work that spans both strategy and execution—building forecasting and ROI models, strengthening cost and inventory discipline, maintaining audit-ready performance, and modernizing systems to improve reporting confidence and decision-making. He has also led enterprise-level efforts such as ERP implementation and multi-unit budgeting and forecasting, and supported growth initiatives that required disciplined evaluation and due diligence.
Mark brings a steady, trustworthy presence to leadership teams, and he is also active in his community through long-standing civic and nonprofit involvement.
